AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO REPLACE FUNDS FOR SUPERVISION OF FIRST-TIME DWI OFFENDERS IN THE BERNALILLO COUNTY METROPOLITAN COURT.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Three hundred ninety-one thousand one hundred dollars ($391,100) is appropriated from the general fund to the Bernalillo county metropolitan court for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 to fund a probation supervisor, four probation officers and two court clerks and related expenses to enhance supervision of first-time DWI offenders, including targeting high-risk offenders and tracking and monitoring offenders ordered to have ignition interlock devices installed on vehicles. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
