AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO SUPPORT NATIVE AMERICAN CULTURAL PERFORMANCES.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Seventy-five thousand dollars ($75,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the Indian affairs department for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 to support performances of traditional and contemporary Native American performing arts throughout New Mexico, thereby educating schoolchildren and the general public regarding Native American culture and traditions and encouraging new performing arts talent. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
