AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE PUBLIC EDUCATION DEPARTMENT TO PLAN AND IMPLEMENT THE NEW FUNDING FORMULA AND THE STATUTORY ACCOUNTABILITY MEASURES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the public education department for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 for expenses related to planning and implementing the new funding formula and the statutory accountability measures, including contractual services. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
