AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH FOR A PILOT PROJECT AT THE WOMEN'S PRISON TESTING ANTI-ADDICTION MEDICATION.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of health for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 to support a buprenorphine pilot project at the New Mexico women's prison to test anti-addiction medication therapy. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
