AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE BOARD OF REGENTS OF NEW MEXICO STATE UNIVERSITY FOR THE RANGE IMPROVEMENT TASK FORCE TO STUDY THE IMPACT OF THE REVISED COMMERCIAL TIMBER HARVEST REQUIREMENTS.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 to support research by the range improvement task force into the impact and unintended consequences of the revised commercial timber harvesting requirements. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
