AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF A STATEWIDE MAMMOGRAM VOUCHER PROGRAM FOR WOMEN IN LOW-INCOME HOUSEHOLDS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One million five hundred thousand dollars ($1,500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of health for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 for the public health division to develop and implement a statewide voucher program to provide baseline mammograms to women in low-income households. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
