FOR THE ECONOMIC AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE

 

AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE CULTURAL AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT FOR A SERIES OF PUBLICATIONS CELEBRATING NEW MEXICO'S CENTENNIAL.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the cultural affairs department for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 and subsequent fiscal years to celebrate New Mexico's state centennial by publishing a series of stories from a community perspective containing cultural experiences, history, folklore, traditions and development over the last one hundred years for each of New Mexico's counties. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of a fiscal year shall not revert to the general fund.
