AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE HIGHER EDUCATION DEPARTMENT FOR COMMUNITY PROGRAMS IN SANTA FE.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One million dollars ($1,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the higher education department for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 to contract for the provision of a community concert series, a community lecture series, peer education of high school and college-aged students and conflict resolution programs, as well as documentary and history projects, efforts to attract movie production to Santa Fe and other support for local continuing education programs in the Santa Fe area. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
