AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY AWARENESS CAMPAIGN.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the aging and long-term services department for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 to increase public awareness of traumatic brain injury through a multimedia campaign that targets active military and veterans communities and their families and is designed to identify persons with traumatic brain injury. The campaign will involve the collaboration of the aging and long-term services department with the veterans' services department and the New Mexico brain injury advisory council. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
