AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO CONDUCT VARIOUS PROGRAMS IN THE CHIMAYO AREA OF SANTA FE COUNTY.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Seventy-five thousand dollars ($75,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the cultural affairs department for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 to conduct a program honoring Chimayo valley elders; teaching arts and crafts to Chimayo-area youth; conducting a juried art show for Espanola valley high school-aged children; conducting a studio tour of Chimayo-area artists, craftspeople, galleries and businesses; and conducting an oral history project in the Chimayo area of Santa Fe county. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009

shall revert to the general fund.
