SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
House Bill 92 appropriates $25 thousand from the general fund to Cultural Affairs department to
establish an outreach program and fund scholarships for students to attend dance and pre-
professional dance education programs in Santa Fe County.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $25 thousand contained in this House Bill 92 is a recurring expense to the
general fund. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of FY09 shall
revert to the general fund.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
House Bill 92 stipulates that outreach programs and that all student participation be conducted in
Santa Fe County. Arts and cultural programming such as the initiatives funded through this
legislation can have broad educational and quality of life impact on children and New Mexico
communities. NM educational content standards include:
