SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
HB132 appropriates one million dollars ($1,000,000) from the General Fund to the Board of
Regents of Northern New Mexico College to start Bachelor Degree programs.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
This proposal was submitted to NMHED by NNMC for the Teacher Education program, but was
not included in the Department’s funding recommendation for FY09.
The appropriation of one million dollars ($1,000,000) contained in this bill is a recurring expense
to the General Fund. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal
year 2009 shall revert to the General Fund.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
HED notes that funds will be used for the start up of six degree programs (Teacher Education,
Business Administration, Biology, Environmental Science, Information Technology, and
Integrative Healing):
