SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
House Bill 250 amends Section 1-19-27 to require quarterly filing of certain expenditure and
contribution reports pursuant to the Campaign Reporting Act. It revises the time and date for
individuals reporting to file, by 5:00 p.m. on the second Monday in April, July, October, and
January, a report of all expenditures made and contributions received on or before the last day of
each of the previous months listed above.
ADMINISTRATIVE IMPLICATIONS
The Association of County Clerks notes that the bill takes out statement of exception filing (page
1, line 20) but refers to it on (page 3, line 19) and indicates that it will increase users on the
statewide electronic reporting system if exceptions are still required to file on-line.

WHAT WILL BE THE CONSEQUENCES OF NOT ENACTING THIS BILL
Candidate filing will be handled as is, with statement of exceptions being filed, thereby reducing
