SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
Senate Bill 469 appropriates $600 thousand from the GENERAL FUND to the Public Defender
Department to contract for investigator services.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $600 thousand contained in this bill is a RECURRING expense to the
GENERAL FUND. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of FISCAL
YEAR 2009 shall revert to the GENERAL FUND.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
The Public Defender Department has not requested these funds and they are not part of the
executive budget. The Department does not support this appropriation.
