SUMMARY

      Synopsis of SCONC Amendment

The Senate Conservation Committee Amendment to Senate Bill 532 adds minor “Clean-Up"
language to the original Senate Bill 532. This Amendment also strengthens the intent of the Bill
by adding a notation so that “goals and policies of the comprehensive plan are implemented."
The intent of the original Bill remains unchanged.

 Synopsis of Original Bill

Senate Bill 532 relates to County or Municipal zoning, providing a Zoning Authority with the
authority to approve special exceptions during the appeals process. This Bill is basically ‘clean-
up’ language that does not substantially modify the intent or wording on this Bill.

SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
Senate Bill 532 remains basically intact. On page 2, line 21 the term “or special exceptions" has
been added. Thus “special exceptions" are added as grounds for action by this zoning authority.
On page 2, line 23, the word “which’ is stricken and the word “that" was added, with no
significant impact on the intent of this Bill.
