Senate Memorial 3 recognizes Junior Achievement of New Mexico's service to the youth of the
state, and declares Tuesday, January 22, 2008 be declared "Junior Achievement Day" at the New
Mexico State Legislature.

SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
Senate Memorial 3 makes the following statements about Junior Achievement of New Mexico's
service to the youth of the state;
Junior achievement of New Mexico is celebrating its fifteenth year of operation during
the 2008 calendar year; and
The organization is dedicated to educating students in kindergarten through twelfth grade
about entrepreneurship, work readiness and financial literacy through hands-on programs;
and
Junior achievement of New Mexico has expanded its activities to include a variety of
classroom-based, after-school settings and capstone experiences, as well as special
initiatives for Native American and Hispanic students throughout the state; and
More than one hundred fifteen thousand students have benefited from the organization's
programs over the last fifteen years; and
Junior achievement of New Mexico volunteers inspire and empower students to believe
in themselves, showing them that they can make a difference in the world;
