SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
Senate Memorial 31 requests the administrative office of the courts to conduct a study on the
need of Class A counties to have a special judge or a special master to hear code enforcement
cases.
The administrative office of the courts shall present the results of the study and recommendations
to the appropriate interim legislative committee no later than October 1, 2008. A copy of this
memorial should be transmitted to the director of the administrative office of the courts.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
No appropriation is contained in the bill to conduct the study. Funding will be needed to hire an
independent contractor to conduct an objective study.
The study will require some use of AOC resources to complete, so there may be additional funds
needed.
