AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE FOREST AND WATERSHED RESTORATION INSTITUTE AT NEW MEXICO HIGHLANDS UNIVERSITY.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Three hundred seventy-five thousand dollars ($375,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico highlands university for expenditure in fiscal year 2010 for the forest and watershed restoration institute to develop a research and extension program with partner institutions to address forest restoration issues. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2010 shall revert to the general fund.
