Your FINANCE COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred
HOUSE APPROPRIATIONS AND FINANCE COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR HOUSE BILL 616, as amended
has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:
1. On page 4, line 13, after "paragraph" insert "or is employed as a public safety officer by an affiliated public employer, other than the state, whose governing body has adopted a resolution pursuant to Subparagraph (c) of this paragraph".
2. On page 4, line 16, strike "by the small public employer".
3. On page 6, line 15, after "paragraph" insert "or is employed as a public safety officer by an affiliated public employer, other than the state, whose governing body has adopted a resolution pursuant to Subparagraph (c) of this paragraph".
4. On page 6, line 18, strike "by the small public employer".
5. On page 7, line 16, strike "and" and between lines 16 and 17, insert the following subparagraph:
"(b) "public safety officer" means an employee: 1) who is employed as a full-time nonvolunteer firefighter in a non-managerial position by an affiliated public employer and who has taken the oath prescribed for firefighters; or 2) who is employed as a police officer in a non-managerial position by an affiliated public employer and who has taken the oath prescribed for police officers; and".
6. Reletter the succeeding subparagraph accordingly.
