Your CORPORATIONS AND TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred
SENATE BILL 300
has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:
1. On page 1, line 12, strike "NONFRANCHISE".
2. On page 1, line 23, strike "initial nonfranchise dealership".
3. On page 1, line 25, after "character", strike the remainder of the line and on page 2, strike all of line 1 and on line 2, strike "department".
4. On page 2, line 7, strike the comma.
5. On page 2, line 8, remove the brackets and line-through and on lines 8 through 10, strike the underscored language.
6. On page 2, between lines 12 and 13, insert the following new subsection:
"B. Before a license may be issued or renewed, an applicant for an initial nonfranchise dealership license shall demonstrate to the department that the applicant has completed eight hours of education training as approved by the department and an applicant for renewal of a nonfranchise dealership license shall demonstrate to the department that the licensee has completed eight hours of continuing education as approved by the department. Before a license may be renewed, an applicant for renewal of a franchise dealership license shall demonstrate to the department that the applicant has completed at least eight hours of continuing education offered by the dealer's manufacturer, the national automobile dealers association or the New Mexico automotive dealers association.".
7. Reletter the succeeding subsections accordingly.
