AN ACT

RELATING TO PUBLIC SCHOOLS; ALLOWING LICENSED SCHOOL EMPLOYEES TO DRIVE SCHOOL BUSES USED FOR TRANSPORTING STUDENTS TO SCHOOL-SPONSORED OR -SANCTIONED ACTIVITIES.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. A new section of the Public School Code is enacted to read:

     "[NEW MATERIAL] SCHOOL-SPONSORED OR -SANCTIONED ACTIVITIES--TRANSPORTATION.--Pursuant to local school board rule, a school district may allow licensed school employees to drive students to school-sponsored or -sanctioned activities. The rule shall include any driver qualifications required by the local school board."
