Your PUBLIC AFFAIRS COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred
SENATE BILL 78, as amended
has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:
1. Strike Senate Education Committee Amendment 3.
2. On page 5, line 4, after "cooperating teacher" insert a period, strike the remainder of the line, strike all of lines 5 and 6, strike line 7 up to the period and insert in lieu thereof:
"A student teacher is only eligible to participate in an alternative curricular plan if the student teacher has at least four years of prior experience in a school setting and meets the qualifications established by the school district or charter school and the student teacher's teacher preparation program. The school district and public school educational plan for student success shall be used to track the alternative curricular plan to show alignment to student achievement goals".
