AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH TO FUND THE FAMILY, INFANT, TODDLER PROGRAM.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--

          A. Two million one hundred thousand dollars ($2,100,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of health for expenditure in fiscal year 2013 to fund the family, infant, toddler program in order to meet the following goals:

                (1) maintain the quality of early intervention services for eligible children and their families and address shortages in rural areas;

                (2) cover the cost of early intervention services and comply with increased requirements, federal and state regulations and quality demands; and

                (3) fund the projected shortfall in the state's federal match for medicaid services.

          B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2013 shall revert to the general fund.
