SENATE FLOOR AMENDMENT number ___1__ to SENATE JUDICIARY COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR SENATE PUBLIC AFFAIRS COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR SENATE BILL 159

1. On page 3, lines 12 through 15, strike Subsection F in its entirety.
2. Reletter the succeeding subsections accordingly.
3. On page 5, between lines 4 and 5, insert the following new paragraph:
"(3) "documented, informed consent" means consent given after a prescriber has:
(a) provided information about a prescription that is adequate to allow the patient or the patient's parent, guardian or legal representative to accept the risks and responsibilities of using an opioid medication; and
(b) documented the information provided by means of a signed form or entry in the patient's health record;".
4. Renumber the succeeding paragraphs accordingly.
5. On page 8, line 3, strike "that are consistent for all" and insert in lieu thereof "for consideration by the".
6. On page 8, line 4, strike "The recommendation on prescribing" and strike lines 5 through 7 in their entirety.
7. On page 11, line 8, strike "that are consistent with" and insert in lieu thereof "after considering".
8. On page 15, line 2, strike "that are consistent with" and insert in lieu thereof "after considering".
9. On page 18, line 22, strike "that are consistent with" and insert in lieu thereof "after considering".
10. On page 21, line 24, strike "that are consistent with" and insert in lieu thereof "after considering".
11. On page 25, line 9, strike "that are consistent with" and insert in lieu thereof "after considering".
12. On page 27, line 15, strike "that are consistent with" and insert in lieu thereof "after considering".
13. On page 31, line 17, strike "that are consistent with" and insert in lieu thereof "after considering".
