A MEMORIAL

REQUESTING RIO ARRIBA COUNTY, THE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENT AND THE UNITED STATES FOREST SERVICE TO ASSIST THE RIO ARRIBA REGIONAL ASSOCIATION OF WATER USERS TO KEEP THE WATER RESOURCES OF THE RESIDENTS OF RIO ARRIBA COUNTY SAFE, HEALTHY AND RELIABLE.

 

     WHEREAS, the Rio Arriba regional association of water users has been incorporated to assist in keeping the community drinking water healthy and safe; and

     WHEREAS, the association members are working with diverse communities and agencies to maintain safe drinking water sources, including working with the United States forest service and other landowners and managers in the region to maintain healthy and productive watersheds; and

     WHEREAS, the association is striving to assist all drinking water systems in Rio Arriba county to maintain robust, reliable and dependable water systems;

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that Rio Arriba county, the department of environment and the United States forest service be requested to cooperate and assist the Rio Arriba regional association of water users to keep the water resources of the residents of Rio Arriba county safe, healthy and reliable; and

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this memorial be transmitted to the Rio Arriba county manager, the Rio Arriba county commissioners, the secretary of environment, the regional forester of the United States forest service and the members of the New Mexico congressional delegation.
