    Your RULES COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION 17

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

    1. On page 1, line 15, strike "FROM NOMINEES SUBMITTED TO THE GOVERNOR".

    2. On page 1, line 16, before the period, insert "AS PROVIDED BY LAW".

    3. On page 2, line 16, after "appointed", strike the remainder of the line, strike line 17 and strike line 18 through "governor".

    4. On page 2, line 19, after "committee", insert "and serve for such terms as may be provided by law".

    5. On page 2, line 22, after the period, strike the remainder of the line and strike line 23 in its entirety. 

    6. On page 2, line 24, after "shall", strike the remainder of the line and strike line 25 in its entirety.

    7. On page 3, strike lines 1 through 6 in their entirety, strike line 7 through the period and insert in lieu thereof "be appointed and have such qualifications as may be provided by law.".,

and thence referred to the JUDICIARY COMMITTEE.
