A JOINT MEMORIAL

PROCLAIMING FEBRUARY 13, 2013 TO BE "CENTRAL NEW MEXICO COMMUNITY COLLEGE DAY" AT THE LEGISLATURE.

 

     WHEREAS, central New Mexico community college has offered unprecedented access to affordable higher education for forty-seven years; and

     WHEREAS, central New Mexico community college serves almost thirty thousand individuals by providing relevant, real-world career and technical training, as well as courses and degrees that transfer to four-year universities; and

     WHEREAS, central New Mexico community college is considered New Mexico's leading community college with the largest undergraduate enrollment of any higher education institution in the state; and

     WHEREAS, central New Mexico community college has built a regional and national reputation for its high-quality training, innovative programs and steadfast educational support of economic development; and

     WHEREAS, central New Mexico community college has shown impressive dedication to its vision of "changing lives, building community"; and

     WHEREAS, central New Mexico community college remains dedicated to its mission of creating educational opportunities and community partnerships while pursuing a level of community college excellence that is worthy of local and national recognition; and

     WHEREAS, graduates of central New Mexico community college reside and work in communities throughout the entire state of New Mexico; and

     WHEREAS, the New Mexico legislature desires to recognize central New Mexico community college for its invaluable contributions to the state of New Mexico;

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that February 13, 2013 be declared "Central New Mexico Community College Day" at the legislature to honor and showcase the tremendous impacts the college makes on the economic well-being of the state and its residents; and

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this memorial be transmitted to the president of central New Mexico community college.
