A MEMORIAL

DECLARING MARCH 15, 2013 AS "NEW MEXICO PROFESSIONAL SURVEYORS DAY" IN THE SENATE.

 

     WHEREAS, since 1959 surveyors have organized to ensure that the surveying in New Mexico has been practiced with integrity and the utmost professionalism; and

     WHEREAS, the New Mexico section of the American congress on surveying and mapping was organized in 1959; and

     WHEREAS, the New Mexico association of surveyors and mappers was organized in 1975; and

     WHEREAS, the New Mexico professional surveyors was organized in 1992; and

     WHEREAS, New Mexico professional surveyors strive to keep the land surveying profession respected and worthy of public and professional esteem; and

     WHEREAS, New Mexico professional surveyors strive to maintain the highest ethical standards and encourage the educational development of its members; and

     WHEREAS, New Mexico professional surveyors, in humility and with divine guidance, pledge to give the utmost performance, to participate in none but honest enterprise, to live and work according to the laws of humankind and the highest standards of professional conduct and to place service before profit, honor and standing of the profession before personal advantage and public welfare above all other considerations;

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that March 15, 2013 be declared "New Mexico Professional Surveyors Day" in the senate; and

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this memorial be transmitted to the president of the New Mexico professional surveyors.
