AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE NEW MEXICO STATE UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF SOCIAL WORK TO RESEARCH, DESIGN AND IMPLEMENT A PILOT PROJECT TO REDUCE EARLY COURT INTERVENTION FOR AT-RISK YOUTH IN DONA ANA COUNTY; REQUIRING REPORTS.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Seventy-five thousand dollars ($75,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal years 2015 and 2016 for the school of social work to research, design and implement a pilot project to reduce early court intervention for at-risk youth in Dona Ana county. After receiving the appropriated funds, the school of social work shall report to the interim legislative health and human services committee once during each of the fiscal year 2015 and 2016 interims. The reports shall inform the interim committee on the research, progress and outcomes related to the pilot project. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2016 shall revert to the general fund.
