AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR SENIOR CITIZEN PROGRAMS IN NEW MEXICO.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--

          A. Five million three hundred thirty thousand two hundred fifty dollars ($5,330,250) is appropriated from the general fund to the aging and long-term services department for expenditure in fiscal year 2015 to fund the following services in the following amounts:

                (1) five million thirty-eight thousand four hundred ninety-two dollars ($5,038,492) to the four area agencies on aging for senior services, including adult daycare, case management, congregate meals, home-delivered meals, in-home services, transportation and senior center services;

                (2) two hundred forty thousand seven hundred fifty-eight dollars ($240,758) for volunteer programs, including foster grandparents, senior companions and retired senior volunteers;

                (3) forty-six thousand dollars ($46,000) for expansion of evidence-based Alzheimer's disease programs in northern New Mexico; and

                (4) five thousand dollars ($5,000) for assistance services provided to grandparents raising grandchildren.

          B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2015 shall revert to the general fund.
