    Your GOVERNMENT, ELECTIONS & INDIAN AFFAIRS COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

HOUSE BILL 61

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

     1. On page 3, line 15, strike "voter's full" and insert in lieu thereof "last four digits of the voter's".

     2. On page 3, line 16, after "the", insert "last four digits of the".

     3. On page 4, line 8, strike "full" and insert in lieu thereof "last four digits of the voter's".

     4. On page 4, line 12, strike "voter's full" and insert in lieu thereof "last four digits of the voter's".

     5. On page 4, line 13, strike "matches" and insert in lieu thereof "match" and after the first occurrence of "the", insert "last four digits of the".

     6. On page 28, line 8, strike the closing quotation marks and between lines 8 and 9, insert the following new subsections:

          "C. The secretary of state and the county clerk of

each county that maintains a web site shall provide notice of and

the voter verification requirements for voting in person and by mail on each entity's respective web site in each language in which voter

registration materials are available. The secretary of state shall prescribe the wording of the notice to be included on the web sites.

          D. The secretary of state shall conduct a statewide effort to educate voters regarding voter verification requirements for voting in person and by mail.

          E. The county clerk of each county shall post in a

prominent location at the clerk's office a physical copy of the

notice prescribed by Subsection C of this section in each

language in which voter registration materials are available."".

     7. On page 31, line 17, before "the", insert "the last four digits of".

     8. On page 32, line 7, before "the", insert "the last four digits of" and strike "full".

     9. On page 32, line 8, before the first occurrence of "the", insert "the last four digits of".,

and thence referred to the JUDICIARY COMMITTEE.
