AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF MILITARY AFFAIRS TO RAISE AWARENESS OF THE SUBMARINES USS NEW MEXICO AND USS SANTA FE AND TO RETIRE THE SUBMARINE USS ALBUQUERQUE.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of military affairs for expenditure in fiscal year 2016 to educate the people of New Mexico about the missions of the nuclear-powered submarines USS New Mexico and USS Santa Fe; to sponsor visits of the submarine crews to New Mexico; to recognize the top sailors of the submarine crews; and to retire the submarine USS Albuquerque. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2016 shall revert to the general fund.
