AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT PREVENTION AND RESPONSE SERVICES FOR STUDENTS ATTENDING POST-SECONDARY EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS IN THE STATE.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the higher education department for expenditure in fiscal year 2016 to contract with rape crisis centers for the provision of sexual assault prevention and response services to students attending any post-secondary educational institution in the state. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2016 shall not revert to the general fund.
