SENATE FLOOR AMENDMENT number __1__ to HOUSE BILL 139, as amended

Amendment sponsored by Senator Cliff Pirtle.

    1. On page 1, line 13, before the period, insert "; CLARIFYING THAT A RESTAURANT OR LODGING ESTABLISHMENT IS A QUALIFYING ENTITY FOR PURPOSES OF THAT ACT".

    2. On page 4, line 8, after "business", insert ", including a restaurant or lodging establishment,".

    3. On page 5, line 10, after "if", insert a colon and the subparagraph designation "(a)".

    4. On page 5, line 11, before the period, insert the following:

    "; and

                  (b) the business created through the project will not directly compete with an existing business that is: 1) in the municipality; and 2) engaged in the sale of the same or similar goods or commodities at retail".
