A MEMORIAL

HONORING UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO HEAD FOOTBALL COACH BOB DAVIE FOR LEADING THE LOBOS TO A WINNING 2015 SEASON AND FOR INSTILLING INTEGRITY, COMMUNITY PRIDE AND TEAM SPIRIT IN HIS STUDENT ATHLETES.

 

     WHEREAS, in 2015, Bob Davie, the university of New Mexico head football coach, led the Lobos to their first winning season and first bowl game since 2007; and

     WHEREAS, the 2015 university of New Mexico football team accumulated the most conference wins since 1997; and

     WHEREAS, Coach Davie led the Lobos to three wins over 2014 bowl teams, including the team's first win over Boise state university, handing Boise state its worst home loss since September 8, 2001; and

     WHEREAS, Coach Davie led his team to victory over the New Mexico state Aggies for the fourth straight year, becoming only the second Lobo coach to start his university of New Mexico career four to nothing against the Lobos' in-state rivals; and

     WHEREAS, Coach Davie's winning team boasts a roster that has a large contingent of players from New Mexico; and

     WHEREAS, Coach Davie led student athletes who earned the highest back-to-back team grade point averages in school history in 2012-2013 and 2013-2014; and

     WHEREAS, Coach Davie leads young men who believe in community service and who spend their summers performing community projects that include hospital visits, school reading programs and special Olympics New Mexico;

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that Coach Bob Davie be congratulated for leading the New Mexico Lobos to a winning season; and

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Coach Davie be honored for leading a team to success and improvement on and off the field; and

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this memorial be transmitted to Coach Bob Davie.
