    Your STATE GOVERNMENT, INDIAN AND VETERANS' AFFAIRS COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

HOUSE BILL 83

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

    1. On page 1, line 18, after the first comma, insert "after having given advance written or verbal notice of an obligation or intention to serve in the armed forces of the United States, an organized reserve or the national guard of this state or any other state or territory of the United States uniformed services to the person's employer, unless notice is precluded by military necessity or is otherwise impossible or unreasonable,".

     2. On page 2, line 2, strike "if an officer" and insert in lieu thereof "and has not had a cumulative period of absence in excess of five years by reason of service in the armed forces of the United States, an organized reserve or the national guard of this state or any other state or territory of the United States uniformed services".

     3. On page 2, line 6, after "hospitalization", insert "and convalescence".

     4. On page 2, line 7, strike "one year" and insert in lieu thereof "two years".,

and thence referred to the JUDICIARY COMMITTEE.
