Mr. President:
Your PUBLIC AFFAIRS COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred
SENATE CORPORATIONS AND TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR SENATE BILL 46
has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:
1. On page 3, strike lines 3 and 4 in their entirety and insert in lieu thereof the following:
"(1) is capable of and required by law to access, connect with or interface with the enhanced 911 system by directly dialing,".
2. On page 3, line 23, strike "each active number" and insert in lieu thereof the following:
"the number of VoIP lines for which the VoIP service provider enables the capacity for simultaneous calls".
3. On page 8, line 24, after the closing bracket, strike the rest of the line and strike line 25 in its entirety.
4. On page 9, strike line 1 up to the period and insert in lieu thereof the following:
"and on the number of VoIP lines for which the VoIP service provider enables the capacity for simultaneous calls, regardless of actual usage, to be connected to the public switched telephone
network during the period for which the fixed charge is imposed".
