SENATE FLOOR AMENDMENT number __1__ to  SENATE CORPORATIONS AND TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR SENATE BILL 180

Amendment sponsored by Senator Gerald Ortiz y Pino

    1. On page 1, lines 23 through 25, and on page 2, lines 1 through 24, strike Subsection C in its entirety and insert in lieu thereof the following new subsection:

         "C. "biological product" means any of the following that is applicable to the prevention, treatment or cure of a disease or condition of human beings:

             (1) a virus;

             (2) a therapeutic serum;

             (3) a toxin;

             (4) an antitoxin;

             (5) a vaccine;

             (6) blood;

             (7) a blood component or derivative;

             (8) an allergenic product;

             (9) a protein, except any chemically synthesized polypeptide;

             (10) a product that is analogous to any of the products listed in Paragraphs (1) through (9) of this subsection; or

             (11) arsphenamine, a derivative of arsphenamine or any other trivalent organic arsenic compound;".

    2. On page 8, line 7, after "individual", insert "and".

    3. On page 8, line 18, strike "evaluation" and insert in lieu thereof "evaluations".

    4. On page 14, line 15, strike "list" and insert in lieu thereof "lists".

    5. On page 14, line 16, strike "list" and insert in lieu thereof "lists".

    6. On page 14, line 17, strike "biosimilar" and insert in lieu thereof "biosimilarity".

    7. On page 14, line 18, strike "interchangeable" and insert in lieu thereof "interchangeability".

    8. On page 16, line 24, strike "list" and insert in lieu thereof "lists".
