Mr. President:
Your PUBLIC AFFAIRS COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred
HOUSE JOINT MEMORIAL 1
has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:
1. On page 1, line 12, strike "LEGISLATION" and insert in lieu thereof "THAT THE LEGISLATIVE FINANCE COMMITTEE IDENTIFY OPTIONS, AND MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS,".
2. On page 4, line 22, after "that", strike the remainder of the line and strike lines 23 through 25 in their entirety and on page 5, strike line 1 up to the period and insert in lieu thereof:
"the legislative finance committee be requested to identify options, and make recommendations, for extending the retiree health care authority's program solvency and to transmit that information to the fifty-third legislature before its second regular session; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this memorial be transmitted to the legislative finance committee".
