0001| AN ACT | 0002| MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC EDUCATION TO | 0003| PROVIDE A FAMILY SUPPORT PROGRAM AT WILSON MIDDLE SCHOOL IN BERNALILLO | 0004| COUNTY. | 0005| | 0006| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO: | 0007| Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred sixty thousand dollars | 0008| ($160,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the state department | 0009| of public education for expenditure in fiscal year 1997 for the purpose | 0010| of contracting for services to provide a family support program that is | 0011| located at Wilson middle school and also serves Whittier, Emerson and | 0012| Kirtland elementary schools in Bernalillo county. The family support | 0013| program shall include elements that address communication and listening | 0014| skills, conflict resolution skills, problem-solving skills, decision-making skills, parenting skills and alcohol and drug education. The | 0015| state department of education shall submit a program evaluation to the | 0016| legislative education study committee and the legislative finance | 0017| committee by November 1, 1996 detailing the benefits to the state of New | 0018| Mexico from having implemented this program.
