0017|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

0018|       Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--Three hundred thousand dollars
    |
0019|     ($300,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the
    |
0020|     interstate stream commission for expenditure in fiscal year 1997
    |
0021|     for the purpose of funding one-half of a joint study with Texas
    |
0022|     of the surface and ground water hydrology in the Rio Grande
    |
0023|     system in the southern New Mexico-El Paso area for the New
    |
0024|     Mexico/Texas water commission.  Any unexpended or unencumbered
    |
0025|     balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 1997 shall revert to
    |
