APPROPRIATION.--Three hundred fifteen thousand | 0020| dollars ($315,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the | 0021| children, youth and families department for expenditure in | 0022| fiscal years 1996 and 1997 for the purpose of establishing or | 0023| contracting with a nonprofit organization to establish a program | 0024| designed to work with at-risk youth focused on building self-esteem and setting and achieving goals to divert them from the | 0025| criminal justice system and to provide public school teachers | 0001| with techniques to work with at-risk youth and to correct | 0002| negative behavior in their students. This program may also be | 0003| used as a sentencing option for juvenile court judges in | 0004| Bernalillo county. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance | 0005| remaining at the end of fiscal year 1997 shall revert to the | 0006| general fund. | 0007| Section 2.
