0012|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR COMMEMORATIVE ACTIVITIES HONORING

0013|     NEW MEXICO'S "FIRST FAMILIES"; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

0015|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0016|       Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--Three hundred thousand dollars
    |
0017|     ($300,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the office
    |
0018|     of cultural affairs for expenditure in fiscal years 1996 and
    |
0019|     1997 for the purpose of providing for commemorative activities
    |
0020|     honoring New Mexico's "First Families Cuatrocentennial
    |
0021|     Commemoration 1598-1998".  Any unexpended or unencumbered
    |
0022|     balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 1997 shall revert to
    |
0023|     the general fund.
    |
0024|       Section 2.  EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public
    |
0025|     peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
