0012|     MAKING APPROPRIATIONS FOR THE SUPPORT OF VARIOUS SENIOR CITIZEN

0013|     PROGRAMS THROUGHOUT NEW MEXICO.

0015|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0016|       Section 1.  APPROPRIATIONS.--
    |
0017|            A.  The following amounts are appropriated from the
    |
0018|     general fund to the state agency on aging for expenditure in
    |
0019|     fiscal year 1997 for the following purposes:
    |
0020|                 (1)  two million five hundred seventy-one
    |
0021|     thousand two hundred ten dollars ($2,571,210) to provide or
    |
0022|     contract for services to the elderly, including case management,
    |
0023|     adult daycare, congregate meals, home-delivery meals,
    |
0024|     transportation and in-home services for state community programs
    |
0025|     that are funded through area agencies on aging and that serve
    |
0001|     planning service areas one through six;
    |
0002|                 (2)  one hundred thirty-two thousand nine
    |
0003|     hundred ten dollars ($132,910) to expand the Alzheimer's disease
    |
0004|     program with an emphasis on respite care, informational
    |
0005|     assistance and educational outreach programs in communities;
    |
0006|                 (3)  four hundred sixteen thousand nine hundred
    |
0007|     sixty-three dollars ($416,963) for volunteer programs, including
    |
0008|     retired senior volunteer and senior companion programs;
    |
0009|                 (4)  two hundred seventy-five thousand dollars
    |
0010|     ($275,000) for various community programs funded by the state
    |
0011|     agency on aging; and
    |
0012|                 (5)  seventy-five thousand dollars ($75,000) for
    |
0013|     foster grandparent programs.
    |
0014|            B.  Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining
    |
0015|     at the end of fiscal year 1997 shall revert to the general fund.
