0012|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A WILDERNESS THERAPY PROGRAM FOR

0013|     MENTALLY ILL PERSONS.

0015|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

0016|       Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--One hundred thousand dollars
    |
0017|     ($100,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the mental
    |
0018|     health division of the department of health for expenditure in
    |
0019|     fiscal year 1997 for the purpose of contracting for a wilderness
    |
0020|     therapy program for adults with chronic mental illness that
    |
0021|     integrates challenging wilderness activities with counseling
    |
0022|     techniques to build self-esteem, foster independence and develop
    |
0023|     skills with which to cope with their illness.  Any unexpended or
    |
0024|     unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 1997
    |
0025|     shall revert to the general fund.
