0015|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

0016|       Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred thousand dollars
    |
0017|     ($500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the state
    |
0018|     department of public education for expenditure in fiscal year
    |
0019|     1997 for the purpose of developing alternative educational
    |
0020|     opportunities in the city of Santa Fe located in Santa Fe
    |
0021|     county, including programs for at-risk and other youths who may
    |
0022|     benefit from nontraditional approaches to education.  Any
    |
0023|     unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of
    |
0024|     fiscal year 1997 shall revert to the general fund.
