0017|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

0018|       Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred thousand dollars
    |
0019|     ($200,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of
    |
0020|     regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal
    |
0021|     year 1997 to enable the college of engineering to conduct
    |
0022|     research and other activities related to the acquisition of
    |
0023|     federal funds for the establishment of a dedicated fusion energy
    |
0024|     laboratory in New Mexico.  Any unexpended or unencumbered
    |
0025|     balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 1997 shall revert to
    |
0001|         the general fund.
