0012|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A HIGH SCHOOL EDUCATION PROGRAM FOR

0013|     AT-RISK PARENTS.

0015|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0016|       Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred twenty thousand 
    |
0017|     dollars ($520,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the
    |
0018|     vocational education division of the state department of public
    |
0019|     education for expenditure in fiscal year 1997 for the purpose of
    |
0020|     maintaining and expanding a high school education program for
    |
0021|     at-risk teenage parents, with two hundred eighty thousand
    |
0022|     dollars ($280,000) of this appropriation for continuing the
    |
0023|     basic program and two hundred forty thousand dollars ($240,000)
    |
0024|     of this appropriation for expanding the program to four new
    |
0025|     sites throughout the state and for providing child care at those
    |
0001|     new program sites.  Any unexpended or unencumbered balance
    |
0002|     remaining at the end of fiscal year 1997 shall revert to the
    |
0003|     general fund.
