SANCHEZ | 0006| | 0007| | 0008| | 0009| | 0010| | 0011| A JOINT MEMORIAL | 0012| REQUESTING THAT THE BOARD OF REGENTS OF NEW MEXICO STATE | 0013| UNIVERSITY AND THE COMMISSION ON HIGHER EDUCATION COOPERATE IN A | 0014| STUDY OF THE FEASIBILITY OF ESTABLISHING A VETERINARY SCHOOL AND | 0015| A LAW SCHOOL AT NEW MEXICO STATE UNIVERSITY. | 0016| | 0017| WHEREAS, there is no school of veterinary medicine in New | 0018| Mexico, and New Mexico residents who wish to enter that | 0019| profession must leave the state to get their education; and | 0020| WHEREAS, only one law school, at the university of New | 0021| Mexico, provides legal education to New Mexico residents; | 0022| NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE | 0023| STATE OF NEW MEXICO that New Mexico state university and the | 0024| commission on higher education study the feasibility of | 0025| establishing a school of veterinary medicine and a school of law | 0001| at New Mexico state university and that results of the study be | 0002| presented to the appropriate interim legislative committee by | 0003| December 1, 1996; and | 0004| BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this memorial be | 0005| transmitted to the board of regents of New Mexico state | 0006| university and to the commission on higher education. | 0007| - 2 - | 0008| | 0009| |
