APPROPRIATION.--One hundred fifty thousand | 0018| dollars ($150,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the | 0019| local government division of the department of finance and | 0020| administration for expenditure in fiscal years 1997 and 1998 | 0021| for the purpose of funding studies to be conducted by the lower | 0022| Rio Grande water users organization, an organization comprised | 0023| of government entities, to identify sources of salinity between | 0024| Caballo dam and southern Dona Ana county. Any unexpended or | 0025| unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 1998 | 0001| shall revert to the general fund. | 0002| Section 2. EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public | 0003| peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately. | 0004|  |
